Hiya! I'm Esper!

I'm a freelance artist that loves to use sparkles, light and glowing effects in pretty much every piece of work! I started drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil! Although I'm mostly self-taught, I have gone to school to learn new skills (mainly human anatomy and realism) and have been applying what I learned to all my pieces!
Online, I tend to be pretty energetic and talkative, though in reality I'm actually pretty reserved and like to keep to myself offline! Though that doesn't mean I'll bite if anyone wants to reach out, in fact I encourage them to! I enjoy talking with all kinds of people from all walks of life, even if I fall back into my shyness every once in a while! It's just nice to listen to others' stories and learn a thing or two about them!
I also like to imagine I'm also fairly optimistic and encouraging! I like helping other people and encouraging them to achieve their goals and dreams, since it can be pretty daunting to do so at times! So I try to be there for people if they need it!
I'm also a giver. I love giving gifts to friends, family, and doing things that may encourage a community to give too. (You never know who's day you're going to make!) In fact, a lot of the work that I'm most proud of aren't even my characters! They belong to friends, family, raffle winners, and request holders!
And speaking of characters, by the way, I have quite a few characters that I love to draw. (You've probably seen a few on this site already!) I'll introduce them here! So... here are...
The Mascots

Cur
A spunky little dragon-cat shapeshifter that is full of energy. He takes every new situation as a learning experience, and tries to have fun wherever possible. Although he comes across as naïve, deep down Cur is very smart and doesn't willingly put himself in any danger. He deeply cares about his friends and family and has a kinship with Licks.
Unnamed Flam
The unnamed flam is a flamingo with an infinitely long neck, which they keep coiled when they're calm, but unravel when they're excited. They very rarely behave "normally" and constantly subvert expectations with their... oddity. They are very noncommittal about everything that their gender and name changes daily. Their favorite leisure activity is flopping their neck around like one of those inflatable tube men you'd see at car lots.
Licks
Licks is a flamingo-gecko hybrid that doesn't have a single thought in that tiny head of his (much like another member on this list). But even though he doesn't exactly think, his mind is instead filled with nothing but pure joy and love. He loves cuddles and being held, and will invite himself on your lap whenever you take a seat. (If multiple people are sitting, then he will try to make sure everyone gets lap time). His tongue is always sticking out because he doesn't really know how to put it back in. At least it's easier for him to give people licks!
Fun Facts!

And because I thought of other things about me while I was writing but couldn't find a way to make them fit, I'm going to put them here as fun facts! So... here are a dozen fun facts about me! :D (Trust me, there's exactly a dozen. No need to count or anything.)
• I love flamingos (pretty obvious considering a character and a half are flamingo-inspired). So much so that I've been collecting flamingo stuff around my house! (There's actually a story that explains why I love them so much but... it's a bit too long to put here.)
• My favorite color is purple! Hence why the entire site is a soft lavender and lilac. My liking for purple came from the rarity of the color way back in the medieval period and how they were reserved for royalty, but also what the color means spiritually!
• I also have a favorite color combination: purple and pink! My liking toward this combo originated all the way back when I was a kid! When I was younger, I played a game called Halo (still do!) and the second game introduced more in-depth customization options. I played as the alien race and chose the two colors purple and pink to decorate my armor! I even mirrored the same colors in my spiral emblem - my icon that depicted who I was. Since then, I've always liked those two colors and like to apply them anywhere I can. Oh, speaking of...
• The icon of this site was inspired by the emblem I used in Halo 2! It was the vortex emblem with purple and pink as its colors which faded into the background of the same color scheme! I guess it's just been following me around!
• I like playing video games, namely Pokémon, Rayman, Assassin's Creed, and plenty more! (Though I'm not a big fan of online/team-based games, like TF2 or Overwatch. It's hard to jump into those kinds of games if you're as clumsy as I am lol)
• The name "Esper" has a little bit of history to it. When I was younger, I looked up the meaning behind Espeon's name and found that ESP stands for "extrasensory perception", and somehow I stumbled upon "esper" which is a person with ESP. I really liked how the name sounded, and the implications it had made me feel excited and confident to use it in my young age. So I decided to use it and it stuck ever since!
• I'm a Springtime person. I love the crisp early mornings accompanied by the warm sun... it's a perfect blend of warm and cool weather! Not only that, but all of the blooming plants and singing birds make it so scenic!
• I am a fan of vaporwave! Vaporwave is just super colorful, nostalgic, and just... reminds me of the summer and pool weather! (You can see how much I love it with all of the stamps and blinkies I have!) It just feels like I can sit back and not worry about anything when I listen to vaporwave music I find!
• ...And steampunk! I feel like the reason why I like steampunk so much is because of a movie I watched when I was a kid called Treasure Planet, which I forgot about ever watching until just recently! It invokes a sense of freedom and energy that I can't really describe, and everything about it is so creative and intricately detailed! It's a very beautiful theme for me!
• I'm a tea drinker! I love drinking it and experimenting with all kinds of combinations! I don't have my own infuser yet, so I use tea bags and dip those into hot water to let it steep. Though one day I hope to get my own tea set complete with a tea cup and teapot to complete the tea-drinking experience! My favorite kind is chamomile honey vanilla and vanilla earl gray! They have such rich tastes that it's very hard to make tea using them wrong!
• I'm not picky when it comes to food, I'll pretty much eat anything. Though I am when it comes to texture of food. If something just... isn't the right texture, then it's very hard for me to eat. Cottage cheese is a very good example, it's both soft, liquid, has an odd aftertaste... ugh- no thanks. (Sorry to all my cottage cheese fans, but hey, at least you can have all the cottage cheese I don't eat :D)
• I usually dress comfortably; hoodies, sweats, and flamingo socks are some go to comfort clothes. Though I also wear other styles as well, like hipster, feminine and even masculine, which the ladder of the three makes me feel the most confident!
