Throughout this story we learned about the many hardships that Esperanza and her family had to go through. It made many of us feel angry and upset that they were treated this way. Miguel talked about his American Dream and worked hard to achieve it but he had many obstacles. Today, people have the similar American Dream and go through many obstacles trying to reach it. After reading about the current events that are happening today, think about your own american dream.
