Biography: Julie Gutierrez graduated from New Mexico State University and began her educational career in the Bakersfield City School District as a fourth-grade teacher. After two years in California, I had the privilege of spending the next ten years teaching for the Hawaii Public Schools on the Island of Maui. Upon returning to the mainland in January 2000, she taught three years for the Central Consolidated Schools before pursuing an administration career. Over the past seventeen years she has served as Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, Federal Programs Director, AVID Director and Principal for elementary, middle and high school students. She has been employed with the Española Public Schools for the past 10 years.
