12th ESOBE in Salzburg: September 8–9, 2022

The 12th European Seminar on Bayesian Econometrics (ESOBE), one of the major conferences in econometrics worldwide and the primary event on Bayesian econometrics in Europe, will be hosted by the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, in cooperation with the Austrian Economic Association (NOeG), in Salzburg, Austria on September 8–9 2022. The scientific program is available here.

In this workshop, we honor Herman van Dijk for his contributions to Bayesian econometrics by organizing a special session. Papers presented at the conference may be submitted for publication in a special issue of Studies in Nonlinear Dynamics and Econometrics in honor of Herman K. van Dijk (see the the SNDE Call for Papers).

Our aim is to hold the conference as an in-person event. If epidemiological conditions deteriorate, we might have to move to an online format on short notice. Up-to-date information on the conference format, travel and accommodation can be found here.

One-day lecture (Details)

Joshua C. C. Chan (Purdue University) will hold a one-day course (syllabus) on September 7 2022. This is a free lecture aimed at young researchers who have registered for the main conference. While young researchers have priority in admission, the lecture is open to everyone.

Dimitris Korobilis (University of Glasgow) has kindly agreed on short notice to hold the one-day lecture on September 7 2022 on "Recent Developments in Bayesian Variable Selection and Shrinkage" instead. Joshua C. C. Chan unfortunately had to cancel his lecture due to an unexpected emergency.
