My name’s Laura and this is my family. My father’s name is David. He is forty-one years old and he works in a hospital. My mother’s name’s Sylvia. She’s forty years old and she works as a schoolteacher. My parents met twelve years ago. They went on a cruise with some friends and they fell in love there. My dad always says it was love at first sight! They got married in 2008. My older brother, Kevin, was born in 2009. He’s eleven years old now. Kevin isn’t a good student. He always forgets his homework and he often gets detention. He thinks he’s the best footballer in the world! I was born in 2012, so I’m nine. My grades aren’t so bad, but I don’t like maths. My favourite school subject is art and my dad says I’ve got a creative soul. I’ve got a younger brother. His name’s Samuel. He’s twelve months old and he’s very cheerful.

My dad’s parents are Joe and Miranda. Joe is my favourite granddad. He’s nice, but he’s totally deaf. Most of the time, he doesn’t know what I’m saying. That’s cool because we sometimes play tricks on him. We move our lips without making a sound and he says: “What? Speak up”. Grandma doesn’t like that. Grandma’s name is Miranda. She was a cook and she still bakes delicious cakes.

My mum’s parents are Rose and Homer. They are seventy-one years old. My grandmother used to be a nurse, and my granddad was a professional photographer. He still takes amazing pictures. He likes nature and he often goes bird watching.

Lesley is an ESOL teacher at Hackney College in London. On weekdays she always gets up at about 7 o’clock. She has a shower and then she has breakfast with her husband and daughter. After breakfast she brushes her teeth and gets dressed and then she takes her daughter to school. She goes to college by bicycle at 8.30 and she starts work at 9 o’clock. At about 1.30 she usually has lunch. She has a sandwich and some fruit in her office. She finishes work at 5 o’clock and picks up her daughter from her after-school club. She usually has dinner at about 7 o’clock and then she has a cup of coffee. In the evening she watches television or sometimes she listens to the radio. She likes listening to music. She usually goes to bed at about 11.30. Then she reads her book for about half an hour. She goes to sleep at midnight.

My name's Julia, and I am 27 years old. I live in London but I’m German. I work in a bank and. From Monday to Friday I always get up at 6:30 and I have a shower. Then, I get dressed, at 07:00 a.m I have breakfast, I usually have coffee and cereal. After that, I put on my make up and go to work. At 12:00 I usually have lunch at the office with my colleagues.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I go to the gym after work. When I get home I prepare dinner and I watch TV for a while. I like to go to bed at around 9:30. Thursday is different because I go out with my boyfriend. We sometimes go to the cinema or we go out for dinner.

My boyfriend's name is Daniel, he is 31 years old, and he's an architect. His family is from Spain. He has two brothers and no sisters. We have been a couple for six years.

On Friday night I always go out with my friends, we sometimes go to a bar and sometimes we meet at a friend’s house but I can't be home late because I have to get up early on Saturday because On Saturday morning always visit my parents and I often visit my grandparents, too.

I have a blue school bag. There are a book, a pencil, a ruler and some crayons in my school bag. My lunch box is yellow. I have an apple and a banana in my lunch box. I like fruit.

I am in classroom number two. It is big and has a white board. The teacher has a desk and a chair. I have a chair also. My teacher is very nice. I have to listen to the teacher and I have to be quiet when she speaks. My teacher tells me to sit next to the boy. His name is John. There are 20 students in my class.

My school has different rooms. There are 15 classrooms, a library, a computer room and a music room. There is also a small playground with swings and a slide. I play with all the girls and boys. I only play in the playground, not in the classroom. I like my new school.

INGREDIENTS for four people:

Mushroom sauce

1 red onion

1 red pepper

250 g mushrooms

1 can (400g) tomatoes

Olive oil

Garlic

Oregano

320g pasta

First, chop the onion, red peppers and mushrooms.

Next, heat some olive oil in a pan and fry the onion and pepper and cook for 10 minutes.

After that, add the mushrooms and cook for 20 minutes.

Then, add the oregano, garlic and tomatoes and cook for 30 minutes.

Finally, serve the pasta with the mushroom sauce.
