Hi, I'm Kim Meza, ESL/Title III/Migrant Director for Vance County Schools. I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education and an ESL licensure from the Universtity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I obtained my Master's Degree in Elementary Education at North Carolina Central University. I enjoy working with students who are second language learners. In my free time, I love traveling with my family, visiting Cherry Grove Beach and attending UNC football games.
Sherly Ortiz- ESL Parent and Family Liaison
Hello, my name is Sherly Ortiz, ESL Parent and Family Liaison for Vance County Schools. I am a proud graduate of Vance County Schools. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Spanish. I began my career with Vance County Schools as a Kindergarten teacher at Aycock Elementary. I also enjoyed teaching 3rd grade at Aycock. In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family.I especially enjoy going to concerts and watching movies! I am excited to transition into a role in which I will continue to enrich and support the educational journey of the future of Vance County.

Hi! My name is Mr. Rincon, I will be the new ESL teacher at EM Rollings and Early college.
I did my B.A in foreign languages (English and French) at UPTC in Tunja, Col. I started my career as a kindergarten teacher assistant. I love teaching and I have taught for the past 8 years in Colombia.

Ana Davila- ESL Teacher
My name is Ana Davila and I am proud to be an ESL teacher at Vance County Schools. I am from Barranquilla, Colombia. I received a Bachelor's degree in Preschool education from Universidad del Atlantico. I learned English as a second language back in the 90’s in Austin, TX. This is my second year as an ESL teacher here in North Carolina. I’ve been an English teacher for over 26 years now during which I have taught in all levels, from preschool to University undergraduate students. I’m really passionate about teaching the young. As an ESL teacher I help them to overcome their difficulties and reach higher goals, that’s truly fulfilling. Every delivered class is an accomplishment. I feel thankful for the opportunity to improve my teaching experience daily. Personally, I have been married for 21 years and we have two great kids whom enjoy the experience as well.
Liliana Soto- ESL Teacher

My name is Liliana Soto, I am from Barranquilla, Colombia and I am a cultural exchange teacher. I have been an ESL teacher at Vance County Schools for 4 years. I currently teach at Aycock Elementary and The Vance Virtual Village school. I have been an English/Spanish language teacher since 2015 and I have taught at different educational grade levels since then. I completed my M.A in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Hi, my name is Edna Celis and I am from Colombia. I am so glad to be part of the Vance County Schools.
I completed a Master's Degree in English language teaching for self-directed learning, I also have a degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages. I am married and have a handsome boy. I love reading and learning new things in my spare time. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be able to share my culture and teach your children.
Hello, I am Deris Mora. I am originally from Colombia, South America. I teach English as a Second Language (ESL) and Spanish as a Heritage Language at Vance County Middle School. I completed my Master’ Degree in Education (Specialty in ESL) at Meredith College. Teaching is my passion and my lifestyle. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with my students, their parents, and the school community.
Karen Suarez- ESL Teacher
My name is Karen Suarez and I am from Bogotá, Colombia. I am an ESL and a Spanish as a Heritage teacher. I currently teach at Vance County High School. I got my Bachelor’s degree in Foreign languages and my M.A in Education.

Hello, my name is Lesli Miranda Turner and I am a Migrant Recruiter for Vance County Schools. I have spent my whole life here and I've also started raising my own family as well. I attended Vance Granville Community College in Henderson, NC and majored in Pharmacy Technology. I love to help people in any way that I can.
