Welcome to the ESL Collection! This constantly-growing site gathers as many open-access resources about learning English as a second language (or ESL) as possible. As noted on the home page, most resources are currently based on learning American English; however, other forms of English are included. Whether you’re an English learner, an English teacher, or just curious about what’s out there, the ESL Collection is a starting point for your ESL journey. We gather activities, games, workbooks, podcasts, lessons, videos, and more and combine them to make them easier to find. This website is entirely a volunteer effort, and we are not sponsored by or affiliated with any of the individuals or organizations we promote here.
The ESL Collection was started in 2023 by a graduate student from San Jose State University in California who is passionate about making this critical information available. Gina Sablina, Rocio Franco, and Nathaniel Coleman soon joined the project, and now we're working on expanding what the ESL Collection offers.
As always, we are adding resources as we find them. Since new content is available daily, we are trying to catch up to what already exists. We want the ESL Collection’s site to be translated into multiple languages someday. While Google Translate is helpful, we mean it when we say that we want this information to be as accessible as possible.
Our inboxes are open! Contact Gina at evgenia.sablina@sjsu.edu, Nathaniel at nathaniel.coleman@sjsu.edu, or Rocio at rocio.franco@sjsu.edu if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions. If you want to volunteer to help or know of any missing resources, please don't hesitate to contact us!
Finding resources on teaching and learning ESL is not always easy, and finding open-access resources is even more challenging. ESL Collection aims to make finding ESL help easier, no matter who you are or how much experience you have.
