Hello, my name is Thi. I am currently a student at Cosumnes River College, pursuing an Associate Degree in MRI Technology. I am from Vietnam and moved to the United States in 2020. My first language is Vietnamese, but now I am improving my English skills to support my studies and future career.
My goal after completing this program is to become an MRI technician, helping patients receive early and accurate diagnoses. My passion for this field comes from my personal experience—losing both of my parents to cancer due to limited access to medical imaging and treatment. I believe that advanced medical technology can save lives, and I want to be part of that mission.
This class helps me enhance my reading and writing skills, which are essential for my academic success and professional career. Through this portfolio, I can analyze vocabulary, summarize, contrast, and synthesize ideas, which will improve my ability to write clear and structured essays. These skills are valuable not only for my studies but also for my future job in the healthcare field.
The End of Winter
A golden leaf falls away,
Marking the end of a winter's stay.
Summer fades, autumn too,
Seasons pass—none can remain true.
A fleeting life, so rushed and fast,
How many seasons can one outlast?
Spring arrives, then summer bright,
Autumn whispers, winter's in sight.
(...)
A golden leaf falls away,
Marking the end of a summer’s day.
Autumn fades, time moves on,
Which spring will stay forever strong?
Lost
By the window, lost in thought,
Watching clouds drift far and fraught.
They roam the sky, no set way,
Leaving me with life to stay.
Alone beneath the endless dome,
A soul without a place called home.
Better be a leaf or flower,
Clinging to the mountain’s tower.
Watching people come and go,
As years and months just ebb and flow...
A fleeting life, we all move on—
Just spinning in this human song.
