The Esky Simulatoris the perfect choice for those of us who'd rather spend ourhard-earned money on RC airplanes and equipment rather than on a flightsimulator. If you're married, then I'm sure you fully understand the importance of spending your "airplane money" wisely!

The physics are not nearly as accurate as the more expensive RCsimulators. In other words, FMS doesn't do a great job of simulating exactly how your plane will react in the real world environment.

If you're looking for an RC flight simulator to practice precisionaerobatics under different wind conditions, or if you want to learncomplex 3D maneuvers, then you probably need to consider forking out thedough for RealFlight.

The FMS software really doesn't help prepare you to fly your RCairplane unless you have a controller that gives you the same feel asyour actual controller that you will be using to fly your RC airplane.

This controller plugs directly into any USB port onyour computer. It looks and feels just like the real transmitter youwill be using to fly your RC airplane. It even has switches for dualrates, retracts, and an adjustable knob to control the flaps.

The controller that comes with this simulator also works with the ClearView RC Flight Simulator Demo that you can also download for free! In my opinion, this alone makes the Esky Simulator worth buying.

So, you're looking for a free RC helicopter simulator. However, are there any good ones that will truly help you learn to fly? Yes & no depending on what simulator features are important to you.

You must use the same method of controlling a real RC model via the sticks on an RC radio to build the required mussel memory / pathways from the good old processor up in the skull, down to your thumbs/fingers. Building that all up on a game pad or joystick won't do much when you head outside with your bird and RC radio in hand.

Yes there are a number of free RC helicopter simulator programs that you candown-load. There are also several free simulator APPs available at iTunes and Google Play. Most are actually entertaining and if just want to try one out, why not. Just don't think you will learn to fly a real RC helicopter with them.

The planes are easier to fly than real RC airplanes and thehelicopters are ridiculously easy to fly. How easy? Well let's just sayit is harder flying amicro coaxialRC helicopter than the helis in most of these free simulators... they are thatbad. Specifically the flight feels "locked in" no variation, no changingdynamics, and no true feel...

Don't expect Phoenix, RealFlight, Heli-X, or AccuRC's top end flight simulation physics quality and immersive virtual environments as you really do get what you pay for in the world of RC helicopter flight simulators; but ClearView's demo version is pretty good for the zero $ price tag.

As I just mentioned, the Free ClearView download is their demo version and has a few different aircraft you can try out. However, the simulation is not as good as the higher end RC helicopter simulators previously mentioned.

Just remember however, you still get no RC controller interface/USB Radio adapter with any free download sim; so unless you already have something like that, you'll have to purchase it. This is were getting a higher end simulator out of the gate that comes with a controller or USB adapter offers value to offset the cost associated with purchasing it separately.

My RC Helicopter Flight Simulator Page goes over this in greater detail and has links to all the better heli sims so you can read up on them and see what they have in the way of free download versions. I also have simulator tips on that page to help you get the most out of your simulator time, many of which will apply to free demo versions as well.

Now, I'm not going to pretend for asecond I have tried them all nor do I even know much about them. I usethe higher end sims that come with these things standard so I've neverhad a need to spend money on one. I've also heard many compatibilityissues with these things so you do take your chances with them beingable to work with your particular simulator & radio so do yourresearch before purchasing one.

Pictured above is a universal Sim USB Adapter unit I purchased to try out. I have it plugged into my Spektrum Radio's trainer port which is a standard USB to radio connectivity method; but you can also connect to a receiver and use it wireless with any radio which is a pretty neat feature. For $20 bucks, it's a neat little unit, but I honestly have no idea how compatible it is with different sims.

At the end of the day, a free RC helicopter simulator or demo version is certainly an option if you just want to try them out and see what you think and have a little fun. However, if you know you are wanting a quality simulator to actually hone your flying skills that comes with a 100% working USB interface or adapter, stick with the higher end ones. They will likely save you money not to mention time and frustration in the long haul.

The neXt level of radio control flight simulation. We gave our RC Flight Simulator the name neXt because it heralds the next evolution in the model flight simulator industry. The simulator contains 22 flight sceneries, 73 helicopters, 12 multicopters and 5 fixed-wing models. More scenes, models and functions will be added in updates. All 1.x updates are free of charge.

Thanks to the highly effective programming beneath the hood of the graphics engine, you'll get the highest quality not only on the latest hardware, but also smooth performance on older computer systems.

The online activation requires an internet connection. A person can activate neXt on up to two computers. However, the two installations can not be used simultaneously. It violates our software terms of use when two people share a license.

You can download the neXt flight simulator for free from our server and test it via keyboard shortcuts. If you would like to try out your own transmitter before you buy, you can do this for 2 minutes.

The hover flight trainer progressively enables more and more control functions in order to help beginners learn hovering from the four predefined angles. An inverted-flight trainer completes this training program. The switchable autopilot simulates the flight behavior of real helicopters with rescue systems (e.g. BEASTX Microbeast Pro-Edition).

The Simulator is of course fully 3D. If necessary, the neXt shows the stick movements with four available control assignments. Now you can train blade scratching. Practice autorotations and learn the required pitch inputs to perform the manoeuvre in reality with confidence. The more the energy builds up in the main rotor blades, the more the flight data display (below heli) turns yellow.

Try to land your helicopter at a box. A optional marker shows the position of the helicopter on the ground. The real time flight data display (below model) shows the selected flight data. Meet your friends online in flight meetings. A maximum of up to 16 pilots can attend a room. Record your best flights and save them to disk.

Practice camera flights in co-operation between the pilot and the cameraman with the DJI S1000 - including 3axis control and GPS stabilization. The camera can be controlled by a second transmitter or Joypad (Society of Aerial Cinematography / SOAC). 152ee80cbc
