E# Sonic Sight, a participatory live art adventure
inviting all ages to perceive the unseen and unheard sound of E#,
activates a multi-sensory imagination to strike our hidden heartstrings.
Dr. Sherry Shuo Wang is a multi-faceted scholar-artist and theater innovator with transcultural experiences in China, Japan, and the United States. She consistently pushes boundaries. During her recent tenure as a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago, she co-founded the YUAN Asian Art Festival and T.C.T. (Transcultural Cymatics Theater). As an Associate Professor of transmedia arts at GAFA, a leading art academy in China, she fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and creativity. As a director and producer, she has successfully launched 15 "Museum Theatre" programs; she innovates "Ethos Theatre" as a space where “moral imagination” becomes a colorful pallete for the fascination of civic engagement.
Ben Kinsinger delights in the ephemeral. He improvises original music at the IO Theater, Annoyance, and for magicians at the Chicago Magic Lounge. He performs on the Chicago River as Lawrence Tome and with the live-cinema performance Shapes of Emergence. Ben is the co-founder of T.C.T. (Transcultural Cymatics Theater).
Yimei(Emair) Zhu is an interdisciplinary artist focusing on Senses, Posthumanism, and Perspective Transformation. Her work explores deficiencies and imperfections from an unconventional perspective. She invites viewers to see limits not as limitations but as unique modes of experiencing the world. Emair is the co-founder of T.C.T. (Transcultural Cymatics Theater).
Maeve McGale is a queer Irish Born Chicago-based Artist who recently graduated from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. McGale's artistic practice revolves around sculpture and extends into other mediums including installation and performance art. The heart of McGale's creative exploration focuses on the human body and its relationship with internal landscapes. Their work delves into the intricate interplay between anatomy and environment, weaving narratives that reflect the pulse of the planet. Through their art, McGale prompts us to engage with our surroundings in profound ways, encouraging a deeper understanding of our interconnectedness with the natural world. Mary Elizabeth is a multi- disciplinary artist who explores the relationship of social boundaries and behaviors in relation to oneself with an emphasis on identity and sexuality. Through experimental performance art, video, and photography she focuses on the “what-ifs?” that speculate social behaviors and codes of the public realm. Inviting curiosity and a way to view the normal in a “not so normal way”
Nora Ryan, artist and designer, embraces life's fluidity with zeal, seeing endless creative avenues to explore. Humor is her chosen language, navigating any topic to connect people deeply. Her art mirrors this vibrant ethos, blending genres to reflect the diverse tapestry of human experience.
Celestine Urban is a filmmaker and dancer. She enjoys stories with synchronicity, horror, and beauty as well as stories containing the surreal and alien. She loves meeting people from all walks of life and learning how they see the world. When she is not filming or photographing, she is dancing on aerial silks.
