Tutoring not available for your class? Plan to attend your professor's or TA's office hours.

Bonus Action 2: Connect with your course faculty

Helpful tips on how to talk with your faculty or advisors:

  1. Remember, they are people too.

  2. Talking to you is part of their job — they want to help.

  3. Keep each advisor's/professor's communication preferences in mind the first time you reach out.

  4. They are not mind-readers — you will need to contact them directly and tell them what is truly going on.

  5. Don't suffer in silence.

  6. Be proactive.

  7. Communicate about anything that may affect your performance in the class.

  8. Use professional etiquette and grammar. (Not sure what that looks like? Ask your academic coach!)
