Escudogye respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the controls available to the user.

The processing of location and video data is based on the protection of the vital interests of the user (Art. 6.1.d of the GDPR and local equivalents), ensuring the availability of assistance in situations of imminent danger.

• Location Data: Escudogye collects, uses, transmits, and stores device location data (including background location, even when the app is closed or not in use) to enable SOS alerts and BLE features. During a standard SOS or Silent SOS, location data is used to create, update, and coordinate the safety response, and is maintained for the duration of the active alert.

• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE): Escudogye collects, uses, and transmits BLE data to detect nearby BLE alerts and broadcast a local SOS alert wirelessly to compatible nearby devices. This data is processed locally on your device and transmitted solely via Bluetooth to devices within close range.

• Camera and Microphone Access: Escudogye accesses the camera and microphone only when you activate a Silent SOS to take audio and video.

• Data Sharing and Retention: Location and SOS information is transmitted to our services and shared with authorized members of your family group during an active alert. Our services store this information for a maximum of 7 days after the alert ends.

Escudogye is a personal and family safety app designed for private emergency coordination. It does not report criminal activity to law enforcement or any public institution. When a user activates an SOS alert, their location and media are shared exclusively with their pre- authorized family group members within the app. The app does not aggregate, forward, or route any reports to police or government agencies. It functions as a private communication and alerting tool between trusted contacts only.

F. Data Retention and Deletion

For SOS multimedia evidence, a temporary security retention period of up to 7 days may apply to protect the integrity of them. Once the applicable period expires, the data is scheduled automatically for permanent deletion.

G. Regional Data Restrictions / Video Recording Limitations

In certain regions (including the European Union), video recording during SOS alerts is automatically disabled to comply with local data protection laws (GDPR). No video data is collected or stored for users in these regions. The user's location will still be shared with their emergency contacts and saved in the activity log.

H. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including access controls and encryption both in transit and at rest, as provided by our infrastructure services. However, please note that no system can guarantee absolute security.

I. Minors

EscudoGYE is not directed toward children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors under 13.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 must use the application under the supervision and responsibility of a parent or legal guardian, and in accordance with the applicable regulations of their country.
