eSCL Scanner ("the App") is developed by SoftNemo ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our scanning application.
- Your comments: When you contact us for support or provide feedback, we collect the comments you choose to share.
- Scanner capabilities: To improve app functionality and support, the App may collect technical information about your scanner's capabilities (model, supported features, resolution options, etc.).
The following information is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us:
- Scanner IP Addresses: Network addresses of scanners you configure
- Authentication Credentials: Usernames, passwords, or other authentication details for your scanners
- Self-Signed Certificates: Security certificates for secure scanner connections
- App Preferences: Your settings and preferences within the App
We do not collect, transmit, or store:
- Your scanned document content/images
- Personal documents or files
- Network information beyond scanner IPs (which are stored locally)
- Device identifiers or tracking information
- Location data
- Contact information (unless provided voluntarily in support requests)
We use your feedback and support comments solely to:
- Respond to your inquiries
- Troubleshoot technical issues
- Improve the App's functionality and user experience
We collect scanner capability data to:
- Ensure compatibility with various scanner models

All sensitive information (scanner IPs, authentication credentials, certificates) is stored exclusively in your device's local storage using Android's internal storage and preferences mechanisms.
- No Automatic Data Sharing: The App does not automatically transmit any user data
- Secure eSCL Protocol: Scanning communication uses the eSCL protocol directly between your device and the scanner over your local network
- Encrypted Connections: When using secure connections, communication is encrypted between your device and the scanner
- Local Data: Stored on your device until you uninstall the App or clear app data
- Support Data: We retain support communications only as long as necessary to address your inquiry
The App uses the eSCL protocol (Internet Printing Protocol standards) to communicate with compatible scanners. This protocol operates directly between your device and the scanner over your local network. No third-party servers are involved in the scanning process.
You have the right to:
- Access and Delete Local Data: Clear app data through your device settings
- Delete Support Communications: Request deletion of your support emails by contacting us
The App is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, for significant changes, through in-app notifications.
