I am a scientist and educator with a B.A. in geology and Ph.D. in marine geology and geophysics. I teach at Penn State Brandywine (Media, PA) and explore how we can use technology to enhance student learning in introductory-level geoscience courses at the college level. I'm also passionate about engaging in science outreach and finding ways to share stories of science with non-science audiences of all ages.
In 2018, I began Quilting Science Stories and generated my first quilt collection, Stitching Hope for the Louisiana Coast. I have continued stitching quilt collections themed on earth science, such as Drawing Down Towards Climate Solutions. My recent quilt collection is connected to my time at sea on JOIDES Resolution, with Stories from the South Atlantic Ocean.
