  • We welcome participants to the workshop on Experiments with Children and Non-Standard Subjects Workshop, which will take place at Jamaica Bay Inn on Sunday, October 13th. The most updated program is now posted - see the PDF image at right and click the top right to download. If you did not register in advance, please email Anya if you wish to attend as we may still be able to accommodate you.
  • Experiments with children can provide economists with unique knowledge that cannot be obtained from conducting experiments with adults. This includes studying the development of economic preferences among children as a means to understand adults, as well as using economic experiments to understand children themselves and inform models of human capital formation and early childhood education. The past 20 years has seen an enormous increase in working papers and publications that use economic experiments with children. We hope you join us to discuss the newest research in this area.
  • Experiments with non-standard subjects - e.g., older adults, adults with low literacy, or subjects in developing countries - face similar methodological challenges as experiments with children. Therefore, we hope to hold a discussion about these challenges as part of the workshop.
  • The workshop is co-organized by Anya Samek, Jennifer Pate, Isabelle Brocas and Juan Carillo and partly funded by LABEL-IEPR at USC.
