What do the colors mean?
Green: right letter in the right spot.
Blue: right letter in the right spot, and the answer has another copy of that letter somewhere else.
Yellow: the letter is in the answer, but in a different spot.
Orange: your guess has more copies of this letter than the answer does.
Gray: the letter is not in the answer.

I missed some days. Is my streak gone?
No. Missed puzzles wait for you. Go back to any earlier day, play it, and your streak keeps growing.
How do I change the game type or language?
Tap the gear icon to open Game Settings. Choose English, Español, or Dutch, then pick your game type and length.
How do hints work?
Turn on Hints in Game Settings. After each guess, Erudition shows how many possible answers remain. If you're stuck, tap the Hints button to step through possible answers one at a time, with the definition of each.
What is Smart Mode?
Smart Mode catches guesses that ignore color hints you've already uncovered, so a careless slip never costs you a perfect game.
I got a new phone or tablet. Will my stats come with me?
Yes, if you move to the same type of device (iPhone to iPhone, or Android to Android) and transfer your data from the old device during setup. Keep Erudition installed on your old device until the transfer is done, because uninstalling it first deletes your game history. You can download Erudition again at no charge on any device that uses the same store account you bought it with.
Purchases don't carry over between stores, so switching between iPhone and Android, or to an Amazon Fire tablet, means buying Erudition again from that store, and your game history starts fresh. Every daily puzzle is still there to play.
Why doesn't the screen rotate?
Erudition is designed for portrait mode on purpose, so the board and keyboard are always laid out the same way.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone, Android phones and tablets through Google Play, and Amazon Fire tablets through the Amazon Appstore.
