The Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) K9 Unit is comprised of highly trained police officers and their canine partners, who provide specialized support in a variety of law enforcement activities, including search and rescue, narcotics detection, suspect apprehension, and public safety. With the maximum amount of personel being held to 5 throughout all of the departments, these officers are considered the best of the best and are held to the highest standard throughout all of PD.
K-9s are highly trained and work with LEO handler to assist with a variety of law enforcement duties which includes: searching for drugs and explosives, locating missing people, finding crime scene evidence, protecting officers and other people, and attacking suspects who flee from officers.
The mission of the LSPD K9 Unit is to strengthen public safety and support law enforcement by deploying expertly trained police canines in key roles such as suspect apprehension, narcotics and explosives detection, search and rescue, and crowd management. The unit is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, teamwork, and service to the community.
