Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EROS APPLICATIONS INC. ("Eros", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Sera mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using Sera, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide. When you create an account and build your profile, we collect information such as your name, date of birth, gender and the genders you're interested in, phone number, email address, photos, bio, job title, height, hometown, interests, and any other content you choose to add.
Account and authentication data. We use phone-number verification and email/password to sign you in. We store the identifiers needed to authenticate you.
Location. With your permission, we collect approximate or precise location (or a neighbourhood you enter) so we can show you nearby people and let you set distance preferences. You can control location access in your device settings.
Usage and device data. We automatically collect information about how you use the Service and about your device — for example, app interactions, likes, matches, log data, device model, operating system, and app version — to operate and improve the Service and to keep it secure.
Subscription data. If you purchase a subscription, purchases are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status (for example, whether Sera+ or Sera Prima is active) but we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
2. How we use information
We use your information to: create and manage your account; show your profile to other users and show you potential matches; enable core features such as likes, matches, messaging, and preferences; process and recognize your subscription; personalize and improve the Service; keep the Service safe (detecting fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms); respond to your requests and provide support; and comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
With other users. Your profile information (such as your name, age, photos, bio, and the details you add) is visible to other users as part of the core dating experience. Do not include information you would not want other users to see.
With service providers. We share information with vendors who process data on our behalf to run the Service, including:
• Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, cloud messaging, and analytics);
• Apple (App Store subscription processing);
• RevenueCat (subscription management);
• Anthropic (automated photo content moderation);
and similar providers, who are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or where we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Eros, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
4. Your choices and rights
You can review and edit most of your profile information within the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which removes your profile from other users; some information may be retained as described below. You can control location and notification permissions in your device settings, and manage your subscription in your App Store account.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please help protect your account by keeping your credentials confidential.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact us at support@erosapp.co.
8. International users
We are based in Canada, and we may process and store information in Canada and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate protections for cross-border transfers of personal information.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other reasonable means and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
