My name is Erin Allen, and I was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma. As the youngest of three children, I grew up surrounded by strong role models who taught me the value of hard work, service, and perseverance. From an early age, I developed a passion for leadership and excellence that has shaped nearly every aspect of my life.
Throughout my academic career, I have embraced opportunities to lead and serve others. My leadership journey began in elementary school when I received the Student of the Year award, an achievement that sparked a lifelong commitment to excellence. Since then, I have held numerous leadership positions, including Student Council and Class President, Business Professionals of America Chaplain, Principal's Advisory Board Student Ambassador, and Drum Major. These experiences strengthened my confidence, communication skills, and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Beyond the classroom, I have remained actively involved in my community. I was selected to participate in the Oklahoma Youth Leadership Exchange, helped support a local judicial campaign, and completed several impactful internships. At the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic, I gained early exposure to healthcare while assisting patients and learning about the medical field. At the University of Central Oklahoma, I served as a tutor and mentor for middle school students, helping them build academic confidence and achieve their goals. I also interned with the Millwood Instrumental Music Department, where I taught music, composed original pieces, and developed a deeper appreciation for education and mentorship.
My interest in healthcare began during high school through my love of science, particularly biology and human anatomy. While I knew I wanted a career in healthcare, I had not yet discovered the path that best aligned with my passions. That clarity came during my undergraduate years following a serious injury.
After an accident left me hospitalized with a fractured fibula requiring surgery, I met a Physician Assistant who would ultimately change the course of my life. During a time filled with pain, uncertainty, and fear, he took the time to explain my diagnosis, answer my questions, and guide me through the treatment process with compassion and professionalism. His ability to combine medical expertise with genuine patient-centered care left a lasting impression on me.
That experience inspired me to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant. It showed me the profound impact healthcare providers can have during some of the most vulnerable moments in a person's life. My journey from patient to aspiring PA has given me a unique perspective on the importance of empathy, communication, and advocacy in healthcare. I am committed to providing the same level of care, compassion, and support that I received.
While I am grateful for the honors, awards, and accomplishments I have achieved, I remain grounded by the understanding that growth comes through challenges as much as successes. With the support of my family, mentors, faith, and community, I continue striving to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Service has always been one of my greatest purposes, and I look forward to carrying that commitment forward as a future Physician Assistant.
