While earning her certification, Erika gained practical field experience as a Sales Associate with SS Fusion Medica in Tampa. She supported physician accounts, assisted with scheduling and product arrangements, and built ongoing relationships with both medical and administrative teams. Erika developed confidence in discussing surgical pathologies, treatment options, and the role of implants, hardware, and biologic solutions. Her time at SS Fusion strengthened her operating room readiness and solidified her ability to understand providers' clinical needs and to support them effectively in fast-paced surgical environments.

After a year with SS Fusion, Erika expanded her career by joining Globus Medical in Memphis, Tennessee, where she has contributed for the past four years. She is recognized as a high-potential professional who supports organizational growth, strengthens provider relationships, and increases market share in her territory. Her procedural knowledge spans ACDF, PCF, TLIF, PLIF, ALIF, lateral lumbar procedures, and various complex deformity surgeries. Erika’s ability to anticipate surgeons' needs and provide accurate product guidance during high-acuity cases has made her a trusted resource in the operating room. She continues to grow her expertise while delivering strong performance across sales objectives.

Raised in Tallahassee, Florida, Erika Mackinnon is a first-generation American on her father’s side. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University in 2016. Following graduation, she served as Chief Legislative Intern for the Florida Senate, where she assisted with drafting briefings, creating talking points, tracking bills, and evaluating support for proposed legislation. Her responsibilities also included meeting with constituents, nonprofit organizations, and legislative stakeholders to discuss policy issues.

Erika later became a junior lobbyist and political fundraiser before moving into business development roles. As a Business Development Analyst at GSSP in Stamford, Connecticut, she conducted policy research, evaluated potential acquisitions, supported major real estate and tax equity transactions, and provided strategic insights to executive leadership. Her next role as Deputy Finance Director at The O’Rourke Group involved relationship building with government officials, private donors, and community leaders.
