Client A was a male in his mid-40's suddenly developed unexplained fear of leaving his house, with every attempt to do so resulting in fainting spell the moment he stepped over the front door. Medical help was sought and after extensive examinations, neurological disorder was ruled out. His attending doctor, who was a past student of mine, referred him to me.
After first session of hypnosis, Client A was able to get out of his house on his own without the usual fainting spell. By second session, his insomnia (which was suspected to be due to the anxiety and fear related to his now solved problem) was alleviated and paresthesia of his arms was no longer present. After third session, Client A was able to resume his normal lifestyle and subsequently discharged.
Various clients came to me for help in overcoming phobias.
Clients shared that they either had to take Valium or continuously imbibe alcohol during flights in order to go through their flights or else they would lose control and break down; one even shared that they cried and trembled throughout a short flight.
Others had phobias of enclosed space (inside the elevator where they would sweat and trembled from the moment they got into the elevator till they were out of it), butterflies (lepidopterophia) and even small holes (trypophobia). Yes, such may be irrational fears to others but they are real to my clients.
Using a combination of NLP's Fast Phobia Cure and hypnosis-based relaxation, the majority of these cases were resolved in single session while an extra top-up session was taken by a couple of these clients.
One of my favourite interventions which I always demonstrate during my NLP workshops. Live and working with first time participants. After the sessions were over, participants (about 90%) no longer binge and the urge will no longer return.
Clients and workshop participants alike who came for intervention or workshop to deal with unhelpful thoughts found instant relief after undergoing a single session or during the workshop. Either hypnosis or NLP approach was used during such events.
Client B came to me to experience hypnosis, wanting to know how it was like to be in hypnosis. In the course of the pre-induction talk, he mentioned that he was having a neck pain and this was something that was with him for the last two years, and would flare up whenever he was stressed and too focused with his work. He consulted his doctor on this, and was advised there was nothing wrong with him physically. It was suggested to him perhaps he would like to make use this exploratory hypnosis session to do some healing work for himself to which he agreed to.
After the hypnosis session, Client B said he felt warm and good over his neck and that the pain was no longer there. He was taught how to instantly destress himself so that he can maintain this pain-free condition. Two days later, we bumped into each other, and Client B said todate the pain was absent.
Loss Of Appetite As A Result Of Medical Procedure
Client C went through a challenging medical procedure which caused his appetite to diminish. He needed to regain weight and obtain the necessary nutrients in order to continue undergoing medical treatment. After a hypnosis session and exploring the use of self-hypnosis, Client C managed to regain his appetite.
