Calibrating DBS device parameters for each patient can take months of manual work. I'm building a fully automated system that uses AI to optimize device settings for Parkinson's disease based on their effect on neural recordings.

Closed-loop stimulation of the temporal cortex has the potential to restore memory deficits in patients with epilepsy and brain injury. I'm studying which brain regions this stimulation method activates and how it modulates them, to optimize its effectiveness for future patients.
I've used dimensionality reduction techniques to show how irregular stimulation parameters can provide new patterns of control compared to conventional stimulation.
I've also written an in-depth review to describe why and how medial septum DBS would benefit patients with temporal lobe epilepsy.
