Dr. Hyeokkoo Eric Kwon (권혁구, 權赫九) is Provost's Chair Professor in Information Systems at Nanyang Business School (NBS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He is the youngest academic to be appointed to the chair professorship. He is the Director of the Nanyang Fellows MBA and the Double Degree in Business and Computing and serves on the Senate Committee on Research & Innovation. He currently serves as Associate Editor (AE) for Information Systems Research (ISR), Decision Sciences, and the Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems (APJIS), and previously served on the Editorial Review Board (ERB) of Information Systems Research (ISR). Prior to joining NBS in 2018, he earned a Ph.D. in Management Engineering with a specialization in Information Systems, as well as a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, both from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

His research interests primarily encompass mobile analytics for FinTech, digital healthcare, AdTech, and digital platforms and extend into broader domains such as artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation transforming conventional practices and industries. He has been closely working with a number of leading companies across a broad spectrum of industries—ranging from mobile marketing and telecom to banking, consumer/market research, healthcare, retail, CRM, and F&B—for business analytics-related projects and consulting work. He currently advises Nexon Korea and AB180 on experimentation and analytics strategies in the digital advertising space. He also served as an advisor for the TBZ Partners (formerly MUST Accelerator), a prominent Google-partnered tech startup accelerator in Korea, fostering connections between the innovation ecosystems of Singapore and Korea.

Building upon these industry-academic partnerships, he has contributed research articles to premier journals, including Marketing Science, Information Systems Research (ISR), Management Information Systems Quarterly (MISQ), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Journal of Operations Management (JOM), Production and Operations Management (POM), and npj Digital Medicine. His scholarly contributions have also been featured at prestigious academic conferences, including the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), Workshop on Information Systems and Economics (WISE), and Conference of Information Systems and Technology (CIST), where he undertakes various roles, such as track chairs, associate editors, and program committee members.

He has received the INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) Gordon B. Davis Young Scholar Award and the Association of Information Systems (AIS) Early Career Award, the two most prestigious accolades for emerging scholars in the Information Systems field. Additionally, he won the Nanyang Research Award (Young Investigator), the university’s highest recognition for individuals under 39 who have made outstanding contributions to extending the frontiers of knowledge. He was also selected to attend the 7th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting on Economic Sciences as one of the 300 most qualified young economists worldwide, engaging in scientific exchanges with eighteen Nobel Laureates in Economics.

His academic achievements are further augmented by a series of honors and awards, including the Best Paper Awards from the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and the Academy of Management (AOM), as well as multiple Research Excellence Awards from Nanyang Business School. Furthermore, his dedication to teaching has been equally acknowledged with multiple accolades, including the Teaching Excellence Award from Nanyang Business School and the Koh Boon Hwee Scholars Award from Nanyang Technological University.
