Although the choice of materials stayed mostly the same for this tank, my design and build process had to change, as the size of this tank has nearly doubled compared to my past tanks. Given the increased mass, I had to make everything more sturdy, reinforcing the plywood hull with metal beams to keep everything rigid. I had to ditch the worm gearbox system, designing and 3D printing my own double helical spur gearbox to accommodate for the increased torque requirement to drive the tank. Although the track slipping problem was less prominent for this tank, the issue will be solved once and for all after I built and revised my most recent tank.
