Erich Schneider was a deeply caring, curious, and industrious man, with an infectious personality and a hint of humorous mischief. Erich was a constant student -- always seeking to improve himself through both study and good old-fashioned trial and error. Nothing brought him more joy than working side by side with others, sharing his knowledge, and hoping they would surpass him in skill. His passion for learning and teaching was evident in every interaction.
Erich spent the beginning of his career teaching elementary school, but when he became the Woods/Construction teacher at Reynolds High School, he discovered "his people". He found a meaningful connection with high school students, thoroughly enjoying the experience. His unique blend of structure and casualness allowed him to build lasting relationships with both students and staff, making him an integral part of the school community.
This scholarship honors Erich's legacy by supporting students pursuing careers in the trades. Erich believed strongly in helping every student plan for life after high school and beyond, and this scholarship continues that mission.
Applicants must be students who have successfully completed 2.5 credits of Career and Technical Ed (CTE) in a single program of study (Woods/Construction, Metals, or Automotive) . Additional requirements are outlined in the application.
