I took a bit of an unusual route through school. In high school, I participated heavily in the Aurora Public Schools concurrent enrollment and ASCENT programs, which allowed me to take courses at the Community College of Aurora and Metropolitan State University of Denver. I earned an Associates of Science in 2015 as a result, and fell in love with mathematics thanks to my Calculus teacher at CCA.  

I continued my studies at the MSUD that same year with a major in Mathematics and minor in Biology.  While at MSUD, I conducted research in the character theory of low-rank classical finite groups with Prof. Mandi Schaeffer Fry, as part of a larger research group under her supervision.  In 2017, I was granted the opportunity to spend the Fall semester studying mathematics in Hungary as part of the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics program.  

After graduating university, I was accepted at the University of Arizona for post-graduate studies, where I started studying mathematical physics and quantum spin systems. I earned my Master's of Science in Mathematics in 2021, focusing on Lieb-Robinson Bounds for open quantum spin systems.  

During the summer of 2021, I participated in the second Groundwork for Operator Algebras Lecture series (GOALS) at Michigan State University.  This led to an interesting collaboration between Prof. Brent Nelson on ergodic quantum processes in von Neumann Algebras with a tracial state. In 2022, I completed by PhD comprehensive examination at UofA and advanced to the level of a PhD candidate. I successfully defended my Ph.D. Thesis on April 11, 2024 under supervision of Prof. Robert Sims. 

I am currently a postdoc at MSU advised by Prof. Jeffrey Schenker. Our group published a trio of papers about ergodic quantum spin systems, the functional analytic structure of ergodic matrix product states, and  their parent Hamiltonians. In August, 2026, I am incredibly fortunate to get to participate in the Quantum Theory on all Scales school hosted by l'École de Physique des Houches.

In January 2027, I will join Prof. Amanda Young's research group for my second postdoc at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where we have some very cool research planned :-)
