I had a bit of an unusual education journey, starting with the concurrent enrollment program in Aurora Public Schools. I was lucky enough to participate in courses at the Community College of Aurora while still in high school, and earned an Associates of Science in 2015 as a result.
I graduated to the Metropolitan State University of Denver that same year and majored in Mathematics and minored in Biology. While at MSUD, I conducted research in the character theory of low-rank classical finite groups with Prof. Mandi Schaeffer Fry, as part of a larger research group under her supervision. In 2017, I was granted the opportunity to spend the Fall semester studying mathematics in Budapest as part of the Budapest Semesters in mathematics program.
After graduating university, I was accepted at the University of Arizona for post-graduate studies, where I pivoted into studying mathematical physics. I earned my Master's of Science in Mathematics in 2021.
During the summer of 2021, I participated in the second Groundwork for Operator Algebras Lecture series (GOALS) at Michigan State University. This led to an interesting collaboration between Prof. Brent Nelson and myself (see our paper). In 2022, I completed by PhD comprehensive examination at UofA and advanced to the level of a PhD candidate. I successfully defended my Ph.D. Thesis on April 11, 2024 under supervision of Prof. Robert Sims.
I am currently a postdoc under Prof. Jeffrey Schenker where I'm continuing to learn new things about math, physics and everything in-between!
Yes! For 13 years I was an amateur musician and played French Horn. While in high school, I studied Japanese and got to go on a student exchange with Denver's Sister City, Takayama. In college, I sang with the Denver Gay Men's Chorus which is how I met my wonderful husband, Ben. We have a dog we adore named Ollie. I'm currently learning Hebrew to prepare to spend an academic year at the University of Haifa! I sometimes also knit, do calligraphy, and cook fancy food, but most of all, I love spending time with my family.
Me and Ollie the day we adopted him!
