Student Engagement

At various times I have conducted extracurricular reading groups with undergraduate students. Topics have included:

• Brown vs. Board and segregation/desegregation
• Curriculum and structural education reform
• Compulsory education
• Free speech on K12 and college campuses
• Current local political issues related to Georgia schools

I have also hosted guest speakers for this group and for the general campus. Speakers have represented:

• The Georgia General Assembly
• The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
• The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education
• Vocatio, an education technology startup
• Various local schools and nonprofits

Local, State, and National Engagement and Service
