We are a democratic emergency medicine group. We are currently contracted with a three-hospital community healthcare system located in Ocean Springs, Gulfport, and Pascagoula, Mississippi. We currently staff three separate emergency rooms with a combined volume of approximately 110,000 visits per year with double physician coverage from 11:00am to 9:00pm with PA/NP assistance during the day from 9:00am-11:00pm and single coverage overnight. You will never be asked to sign a midlevel chart on a patient you do not see.

The group consists of 25 board-eligible and board-certified physicians with great comradery working in a group with very low turnover. We hope to hires several full time physicians as soon as possible. You will cover a rolling format of days, evenings, and nights with additional shifts available if desired due to those offered up by other members of the group. We have a great work-life balance with a max of 3 night shifts per month. You will often only have a few nights per month due to our group having multiple full time nocturnists. We strive for fairness with an RVU payment model, and we cut out the middleman with no contract company involvement, increasing total profit with an hourly rate that exceeds regional averages.

We have a great relationship with the health system with one of the longest continuous emergency medicine group partnerships with a health system in the country, dating back to 1967. We are highly regarded for the medical care we provide on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Patients often tell us that they drive past other facilities to be evaluated at our hospitals. We have had several members of our group act as Chief of Staff for the hospital system, which is pretty rare in Emergency Medicine. We use Epic EMR and Dragon dictation with the option for scribe coverage. We have an internal medicine hospitalist program at both facilities for admissions and have most specialties available for consultation along with great working relationships with tertiary centers in Jackson, Mobile, and New Orleans.

We have 24/7 OB-GYN coverage at 2 of the hospitals, and OB patients over 20 weeks gestation, unless trauma is involved or for a presentation that is obviously non-OB, are sent directly to our OB Receiving unit for evaluation and treatment by the OB-GYN on-call. We have a psychiatric inpatient unit with 24/7 psychiatric physician on-call coverage, and we have trained psychiatric nurses who assist in evaluating emergency psychiatric patients in consultation with the psychiatrist. Professionally, we are highly regarded by our consultants and co-workers for excellent care and communication. Personally, we spend time together outside of the hospital as a group as often as possible.
