Addressing the entire atmosphere-ionosphere system, this book bridges the traditional disciplines of meteorology and aeronomy by focusing on key coupling and connection processes from the planetary surface to the exosphere. Written with a strong interdisciplinary focus, it provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles of the dynamics, energetics, and chemistry of Earth's entire atmosphere-ionosphere system. Introductory chapters cover prerequisite background in mathematics, physics and chemistry, with later chapters deepening the study of atmospheric regions and their interactions.
