HANSdoc is a database of primary sources pertaining to the trade of North German (Hanseatic) towns with the North Atlantic islands (Iceland, Shetland and the Faroe Islands) in the 15th-17th centuries. Of many of these documents, kept in various archives in Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom and elsewhere, there exists a transcript and/or a digital facsimile.
DanDoc is a collection of Chancery records from Denmark during the 16th and 17th Centuries. Each record has been specifically selected based on its relevance to fish, fishing, fisheries, fish trade, political and legal instruments or general interest relating to fisheries. Search criteria include annual date ranges, species of fish or sea mammals, locations, technology deployed and general type of record.
The Nautical Cartography Hub is a collection of nautical and terrestrial cartography related to the processes of marine extractions, naval warfare, trade and commerce. Such pieces of cartography allows us to study period perceptions of the oceanic environment, and how it was utilized as a natural resource, as well as a political and economic tool.
