ONLINE LECTURES PROGRAM (updated!!!)
Politecnico di Torino is organizing the first edition of a BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) within the Erasmus + agreement on geothermal energy.
The initiative follows the successful 2024 Summer School "Geothermal energy: resource assessment, plants, and environmental impacts", Under the patronage of the European Technology & Innovation Platform on Geothermal (ETIP-Geothermal). The 2024 summer school was held both online and in person visiting the geothermal site of Larderello (Pisa), the seat of the ORC turbine factory Exergy, and with the final presentation at the Europe Energy Conference & Exhibition (Turin).
The 2025 Geothermal BIP covers the main topics of shallow and deep geothermal energy use: geothermal power plant projects (exploration, plant building, operation), turbines with a focus on Organic Rankine Cycle, closed-loop deep geothermal energy projects, large-scale resource assessment, applied geophysics, reservoir modelling, environmental impacts with a focus on subsidence, and ground-source heat pumps (both borehole heat exchangers and open-loop systems).
