Representatives of 7 project partners (Norway, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Spain and Croatia) attended the transnational project meeting held in Durdevac Struck School.
On the very first day, we experienced the beginning of the third week of a national strike in Croatia, where pedagogical staff fought for better working conditions. On the second day of our meeting, the strike ended and we could see Croatian pupils and teachers in action.
In addition to the work on the project outputs, we have obtained some stimulating information about the school education system and vocational training in Croatia. The school is supported by its founder, who provides support in the preparation and implementation of EU-funded projects. The projects focus on both investment and the modernization of education and its interconnection with practice.
We had the opportunity to listen to the presentation of the director of the Regional Trades Chamber, which also significantly helps schools in supporting vocational education and motivating elementary school pupils to study shortages.
Our hosts also presented to us the vocational training system in Croatia as well as the Croatian qualifications framework and its comparison with the European Qualifications Framework.
We visited two engineering companies - RASCO Kalinovac and Data Link Bjelovar. We became acquainted not only with their production program, but also with the system of cooperation with the school in vocational training. In Croatia, they have a well-developed vocational training system with an emphasis on dual training for practical needs.
Within the cultural program we enjoyed the atmosphere of Advent in Zagreb as well as sitting in the winery of one of the teachers of the host school.
