Perugia es la capital de la región de Umbría, y está situada en el interior del centro de Italia, Ubicada a medio camino entre Roma y Florencia en el punto más ancho de la península. El centro histórico de Perugia se encuentra sobre un sistema de colinas a una altura de aproximadamente 450  m  sobre el nivel del mar Se desarrolla alrededor de este punto y en la cresta de las colinas que se ramifican en él, formando una acrópolis y cinco pueblos medievales extendidos sobre cinco puertas.

Perugia cuenta con una vida urbana muy intensa, ligada sin duda a la presencia de una de las universidades más antiguas y prestigiosas de todo Italia (fundada en 1308), además de la Universidad para Extranjeros, por lo que no es de extrañar que cada año se acerquen hasta ella miles de estudiantes no solo de diferentes partes de Italia, sino de todo el mundo. 

Los Erasmus también tienen predilección por esta ciudad italiana por lo que el ambiente estudiantil es único. 

Perugia acoge en julio uno de los más emblemáticos festivales de jazz de todo el mundo: Umbria Jazz . Además cada año a mediados de octubre, los amantes del chocolate están de enhorabuena porque se da cita uno de los festivales gastronómicos más famosos de Italia : el Eurochocolate. 

Cuando llegamos fuimos recibidas por Anna Droppova, de la oficina digital del programa Erasmus+, que ha estado en todo momento a nuestra disposición y nos enseñó todas las instalaciones del conservatorio. Desde nuestra llegada, y durante cinco días, hemos tenido la oportunidad de asistir libremente a muchas clases, donde siempre hemos sido recibidas muy bien. Hemos podido conversar con muchos profesores y disfrutado mucho de las experiencias en las distintas clases. Particularmente interesante fue la clase de clavicembalo y clavicordio, donde pudimos escuchar a un alumno que finalizaba estos estudios tocar ambos instrumentos, y la profesora nos estuvo enseñando el funcionamiento de los mismos. Las clases de acompañamiento de piano para pianistas han sido muy interesantes, ya que es algo que no se hace en los conservatorios españoles. Agradecemos a los profesores Josipovic, Pitavini, Farinelli, Chaviano, Rossetti y Moles, por su amabilidad y habernos hecho partícipes de sus enseñanzas, y especialmente a F. Fraboni, por habernos dedicado su tiempo, por su cariño y por ser siempre una inspiración como pianista acompañante. Es un placer verlo enseñar.

En resumen, ha sido una experiencia magnífica para ambas, en la que hemos aprendido mucho y todo ello en una ciudad preciosa con un ambiente excelente para los estudiantes que se quieran adentrar en esta experiencia que sin duda les recomendamos.

Perugia is the capital of the Umbria region, and is located in the interior of central Italy, located halfway between Rome and Florence at the widest point of the peninsula. The historic center of Perugia is located on a system of hills at a height of approximately 450 m above sea level. Erasmus students also have a preference for this Italian city so the student atmosphere is unique.

In July, Perugia hosts one of the most emblematic jazz festivals in the world: Umbria Jazz. Furthermore, every year in mid-October, chocolate lovers are in luck because one of the most famous gastronomic festivals in Italy takes place: Eurochocolate.

When we arrived we were greeted by Anna Droppova, from the digital office of the Erasmus+ program, who has been at our disposal at all times and showed us all the facilities of the conservatory. Since our arrival, and for five days, we have had the opportunity to freely attend many classes, where we have always been very well received. We have been able to talk with many teachers and really enjoyed the experiences in the different classes. Particularly interesting was the harpsichord and harpsichord class, where we were able to listen to a student who was completing these studies play both instruments, and the teacher was teaching us how they work. The piano accompaniment classes for pianists have been very interesting, since it is something that is not done in Spanish conservatories. We thank Professors Josipovic, Pitavini, Farinelli, Chaviano, Rossetti and Moles, for their kindness and for having made us part of their teachings, and especially to F. Fraboni, for having dedicated his time to us, for his affection and for always being an inspiration as Accompanying pianist. It is a pleasure to see him teach.

In short, it has been a magnificent experience for both of us, in which we have learned a lot and all of this in a beautiful city with an excellent environment for students who want to delve into this experience that we undoubtedly recommend.

El Conservatorio de Música Francesco Morlacchi de Perugia está situado en la parte antigua de la ciudad de Perugia. Es la única institución pública de educación superior artístico musical en Umbría. La sede del conservatorio es fruto de la restauración de un edificio monumental que data de 1500, y fué fundado como institución musical hace mas de 200 años. Cuenta con un prestigioso equipo docente formado por alrededor de 100 profesores y con unos 600 alumnos que cursan los Estudios Institucionales. Estos se dividen en una primera fase de tres años (Licenciatura), y una segunda parte de dos años (Master)). Cuenta también con una línea preparatoria oficial que conforma la formación de los alumnos más jóvenes para acceder posteriormente a los cursos institucionales. Las materias que se imparten comprenden todos los instrumentos, incluído un Departamento de Música de Jazz y Nuevas Tecnologías Musicales (Música Electrónica).

Finalmente, la oferta académica se ve enriquecida por la posibilidad de realizar cursos individuales a los que se puede acceder a través de un exámen de admisión y cursos libres, que no siguen la vía tradicional e institucional, y que están abiertos a cualquier persona sin límite de edad, a los que se puede acceder mediante una simple prueba de aptitud.

The Conservatory of Music “Francesco Morlacchi” in Perugia is located in the old city. It is the only public Institution of Higher Musical Artistic Education in Umbria and was founded over two hundred years ago as a Musical Institute. It is among the most vital and proactive Italian Conservatories, both for the prestige of the teaching staff and for the quality, quantity and continuity of artistic production. It counts on the professionalism of 102 tenured teachers and about 600 students enrolled in institutional courses; these Institutional courses release three-year (First phase – Bachelor degree) and two-year (Second phase – Master degree) Academic Diplomas. There is also an official preparatory course of study, which takes care of the training of younger students for subsequent access to institutional courses.

The teaching subjects includes courses for all instruments. There is also the Department of Jazz Music and New Music Technologies.

Finally, the educational offer is enriched by the possibility of following single courses, which can be accessed after an admission exam, and free courses, free from traditional and institutional paths, open to everyone without age limits, which can be accessed with a simple aptitude interview. 

Como en otros conservatorios, este centro en particular programa conciertos de un alto nivel académico, ya que nos encontramos en un conservatorio de enseñanzas superiores. Llama la atención la promoción que realiza el centro, mediante carteles originales y con el uso de redes sociales para promover y dar difusión a cada acto. 

Por otro lado, la demanda cultural de la ciudad de Perugia es muy extensa: teatro, conferencias, conciertos, galerías de arte, museos y un sinfín de actividades que el visitante, en general, puede disfrutar.

As in other conservatories, this particular center programs concerts of a high academic level, since we are in a higher education conservatory. The promotion carried out by the center is striking, through original posters and the use of social networks to promote and disseminate each event.

On the other hand, the cultural demand of the city of Perugia is very extensive, from theater, conferences, concerts, art galleries, museums and an endless number of activities that the visitor, in general, can enjoy.

¡ACABEMOS CON LOS ESTEREOTIPOS DE GÉNERO!

Los estereotipos de género están profundamente arraigados en nuestra cultura y son una de las condiciones previas de las desigualdades de género. Son capaces de limitar sus capacidades y aspiraciones a la hora de elegir un campo de estudio o formación, una carrera profesional e incluso una simple elección de vida, como un hobby.

Los estereotipos de género limitan la libertad de todos. Por eso es importante cuestionarlos. Con este fin, la Universidad para Extranjeros de Perugia organizó un concurso en el que participan estudiantes para sensibilizar a la comunidad académica sobre cuestiones relacionadas con los estereotipos de género.

¡La iniciativa forma parte de la campaña más general de la Unión Europea #EndGenderStereotypes! con el fin de promover políticas y acciones encaminadas a desmontar y cuestionar los estereotipos de género.

LET'S END GENDER STEREOTYPES!

Gender stereotypes are deeply embedded in our culture and are one of the preconditions for gender inequalities. They are capable of limiting their abilities and aspirations when choosing a field of study or training, a professional career and even a simple life choice, such as a hobby.

Gender stereotypes limit everyone's freedom. That is why it is important to question them. To this end, the University for Foreigners of Perugia organized a competition in which students participate to raise awareness in the academic community on issues related to gender stereotypes.

The initiative is part of the European Union's broader #EndGenderStereotypes campaign! in order to promote policies and actions aimed at dismantling and questioning gender stereotypes.

La sostenibilidad es una tarea increíblemente gratificante, a pesar de los muchos aspectos y debates complicados que surgen de este tema. La comprensión de la importancia de la sostenibilidad para la salud del planeta y de sus comunidades es un tema de discusión relativamente nuevo entre científicos y líderes.

Entre las acciones que está llevando a cabo Perugia nos encontramos con: las reducciones de emisiones de tráfico y el uso de transporte privado, propiciando el aumento de transporte público y el uso de la bicicleta; el aumento del consumo de energías renovables, aminorando la cantidad de residuos y por lo tanto las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, incrementando el reciclaje y concienciando a los ciudadanos de Perugia de los impactos climáticos de sus elecciones y acciones cotidianas.

Sustainability is an incredibly rewarding task, despite the many complicated issues and debates that arise from this topic. Understanding the importance of sustainability to the health of the planet and its communities is a relatively new topic of discussion among scientists and leaders.

Among the actions that Perugia is carrying out we find: reductions in traffic emissions and the use of private transport, promoting the increase in public transport and the use of bicycles; increasing the consumption of renewable energies, reducing the amount of waste and therefore greenhouse gas emissions, increasing recycling and raising awareness among the citizens of Perugia of the climate impacts of their daily choices and actions.

En el conservatorio hay matriculados alrededor de 600 alumnos y alumnas en los estudios superiores, además de aquellos matriculados en los cursos preparatorios y de acceso libre. Por lo que hemos observado, a pesar de estos cursos preparatorios y el coro infantil y juvenil, la mayoría del alumnado es mayor de edad. 

El edificio tiene 3 plantas mas el sótano que alberga también varias aulas, contando con un total de más de 50. En la planta baja hay una zona de descanso para los estudiantes donde hay máquinas de bebidas y snacks, ya que no cuenta con cafetería. 

La biblioteca cuenta con un fondo de mas de 16000 ejemplares, que incluyen partituras, manuscritos, periódicos y material de audio y video.

El Auditorio tiene un aforo de 200 personas, y puede albergar una orquesta de unos 60 miembros. Cuenta con un gran órgano de concierto, construído especialmente bajo propuesta del Conservatorio de Música.

At the conservatory there are around 600 students enrolled in higher education, in addition to those enrolled in preparatory and free access courses. From what we have observed, despite these preparatory courses and the children's and youth choir, the majority of the students are of legal age.

The building has three floors plus the basement, with a total of more than 50 classrooms. In the ground floor there is a break area for the students, with beverage and snacks machines. In the upper floors there are also other rest areas.

There is also a library with a bibliographic fund over 16000 copies, includying scores, manuscripts, newspapers, and audio and video materilas.

In its evocative Auditorium, a large concert organ was specially built, based on the original project of the Conservatory. It is equipped with 200 comfortable seats, with a stage space suitable for a sixty-piece orchestra.
