Zoas are created by the Virus or by Other Zoas from stolen and consumed wakatric parts. Being made from the virus, they share its essence in some regard, being a disturbing mix of rotting organic tissue mixed with synthetic material.
Zoas are connected to the Virus' hivemind yet a one-way transmission. They can vaguely feel it's emotions, they cannot communicate with it but they speak with eachother through the hivemind.
Unlike the infected, Zoas have a sense of individuality to them.
They're known to always have at least one mouth on their body.
Because of their unique composition, Zoas are able to consume pretty much anything. If the opportunity presents itself most would gladly consume wakas all the same but they always steer clear of Mokas.
being created from destroyed and stolen waka parts can have it's downsides. Most Zoas go their entire lives without recalling a single thing, however if they were made with a core that's somewhat intact? They may get bursts distorted and fractured memories every now and then.
Faces they don't remember haunt their waking days while voices of strangers keep them up at night...
can be a subclass? yes
Zoas are a mix of rotting organic material and synthetic matter.
They have a shell much like a wakatric does, but their internals mostly consist of four things:
A core (1-5)
A Pouch of acid that acts as a stomach & A faux digestive track. This acid burns up anything and converts it into energy
A skeleton (either metal or partially organic)
Tar that serves as their 'blood' which clings to the skeleton.
Most Zoas spend their entire existence in the host facilities they call their home.
The facilities of the old world run underground for miles and most have been infested by the Virus in current times.
Though they are not barred from the surface entirely, many consider it far too dangerous. Only a handful of Zoas ever go to the surface and even fewer return.
Zoas are considerably more Familial and Parental than Wakas or Mokas, many putting a lot of value in 'blood' relations but found family still remains.
A Zoa starts their life in a host facility, either in the central chamber where the Virus' cores lay or surrounded by other Zoas. They are basically never born alone and are provided for until they're able to take care of themselves.
Newly created Zoas are considered extremely weak as their ick has yet to properly fuse and bond with their synthetic parts, this process can take upto a year if not more.
Zoas are more fragile than the species dwelling above, there's a variety of ways in which they can meet their end:
Starvation
Core malfunction
Being cut off from the hivemind
Water damages
