Mrs. Rachel FitzSimons Spencer has eighteen years of teaching experience. She received her National Board Certification in 2018 and renewed in 2022 (and is renewing again this year). Mrs. Spencer was named the Northern High School Teacher of the Year in 2021. She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Master of Arts in Teaching and Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance. Mrs. Spencer started taking piano lessons at age 6 and has not stopped playing since. She has fourteen years of experience teaching private voice and piano lessons. She served as guest conductor at the Asheboro All County Chorus in 2023. Mrs. Spencer sings soprano with the SONAM Chorus. She lives in Durham with her husband, two sons, and dog Stella.
