The 2016 & 2024 elections demonstrate that equality is always on the ballot. Thus, at the forefront of ERA NOW activities is education and events promoting the Equal Rights Amendment – so that, one day, America will see the ERA published as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution – “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.” (ratified January 2020, declared the law of the land January 2025)
In these turbulent times, showing up, standing up, and speaking up against the Trump administration's agenda is not just an act of resistance; it is a profound declaration of our commitment to justice and equality. From the streets filled with passionate demonstrators raising their voices against policies that threaten marginalized communities to the digital arenas where advocates expose injustice and rally support, each action resonates with the deep-seated courage characteristic of our democracy. This movement is fueled by a determination to confront the divisive politics that undermine fundamental human rights, emphasizing that the collective will of the people can bend the arc of history toward justice. As we learn, march, rally, and engage in meaningful discourse, we reaffirm that every voice matters and that united, we can challenge oppression and foster a more equitable society. Each act of courage transcends beyond individual concerns; it sparks a movement, inspiring countless others to join the cause as we assert our right to a nation built on respect, dignity, and hope for every citizen.
In essence, our resistance is a testament to the unyielding spirit of the people, proving that together we can stand against even the most formidable challenges facing our democracy. When we show up and speak up, we not only honor our values, but we also empower others to do the same.
