Carrie Lee
Carrie Lee, PhD, Associate Professor, Mathematics Education, East Carolina University. As Co-PI of an NSF funded grant, Project INTERSECT, Dr. Lee’s research examines and compares rehearsal structures within virtual and peer-to-peer simulations and the similarities and differences in prospective elementary teachers’ eliciting prompts. Dr. Lee was awarded the Outstanding Reviewer Award for the Mathematics Teacher Educator Journal in 2022, and she has published over ten articles and proceedings centering on simulation work in mathematics and science education.
Heather Howell
Heather Howell, PhD, Research Scientist, K12 Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Center, ETS. Dr. Howell has served as PI on a number of NSF funded grants exploring mathematics and science simulations use in teacher education (#1621344, #1813476, #2032179, #2037983), and has over 30 publications contributing to the literature on teacher knowledge and practice. She is a regular reviewer for the ETS internal peer-review system, and for journals such as The Mathematics Enthusiast, JMB , ZDM , JRME , and the Mathematics Teacher Educator.
Liza Bondurant
Liza Bondurant, PhD, Associate Professor, Mississippi State University. Dr. Bondurant has served as a PI on two consecutive $1.2M Department of Education Math Science Partnership grants and has been a research participant and co-investigator on several NSF-funded projects (#1625784, #1726252, #1835409, #2032179, #2050099, #2054931, #2121364, #625713). She has over forty peer-reviewed publications, has written and edited K-20 mathematics curriculum materials, and is a department editor for NCTM MTLT journal. She reviews proposals for AMTE, NCTM, and PME-NA annual meetings.
Bima Sapkota
Bima Sapkota, PhD, Assistant Professor, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Dr. Sapkota’s work focuses on approximations of practice, mathematical knowledge for teaching, and social justice in teacher education. She has over 10 publications related to opportunities and challenges associated with approximations of practice in mathematics education. Dr. Sapkota has experience of working in several NSF funded projects. She has served as a reviewer of local, national, and international conferences (e.g., PMENA), book series (At School in the World), and journals (SN Social Sciences).
