About Us

Who We Are

We are an organic and diverse collective of K-12 educators in the Greater Toronto Area. We work collaboratively to critically examine our own social positioning and to hold each other accountable in our pursuit of social justice. We are intentional in creating identity affirming spaces and commit to disrupting systems of oppression to secure equitable outcomes for the students we serve. We have curated resources to support classroom instruction, professional learning and to foster community partnerships that will enable others to engage in this work with us. Contact us to contribute to this ongoing project.

It has been a pleasure curating this resource in community to share with others.

Building Community

We honour the African principle of Ujima, and our collective responsibility to build, sustain, and uplift community with our brothers and sisters. We curated this resource to share information, foster awareness, and centre unlearning.

Each tab below houses resources to support classroom instruction, professional learning for educators, and a list of community connections. Our vision is that visitors to this site will suggest additional resources and themes to build a more comprehensive resource.

The Resources for Educators tab is organized as follows:

  • Accessible Education

  • Indigenous Heritage

  • Black / African / Caribbean / Latinx Heritage

  • Asian Heritage

  • Heritage Spotlight: Hindu / Islamic / Jewish / Sikh Identities

  • 2SLGBTQ+ Communities

  • French Resources

Disrupting racist and oppressive constructs, policies and practices, that oppress Black, Indigenous and other racialized and marginalized students takes intention and critical consideration of self and the system.

This website is created to provide resources for self-engagement, for learning and to entice critical discussions. Here are two resources to aid you in a self-reflective journey:

This website is, by design and necessity, an incomplete and non-exhaustive educators' resource. As a disclaimer, we do not unilaterally suggest that all the resources are appropriate for the classroom; you must preview resources prior to using them. The curators and contributors of this project have added materials both collaboratively and independently and it is impossible to review them all. Therefore, it is ultimately your responsibility to assess a text and consider your own professional judgment.
