We value diversity and fair treatment for all. We strive to provide positive representation to inspire people to be the best version of themselves (Kujichagulia), free from judgment and negative stereotypes placed upon them. Equitable Arts provides educational materials to increase social awareness of Black people's history, culture, and or contributions to the society in which we live.
Meet the Creator of Equitable Arts!
Hello friends, my name is Alanna Grace-Marie. I am a visual sociologist and multimedia artist. What inspired me to start Equitable Arts was both my passion and love for art as well as social justice. Since the start of my academic career in 2019, I have dedicated myself to studying Black life, history, and culture to uplift my communities and promote equitable representation for all.
One of the goals of Equitable Arts is to help work toward the elimination of ethnic conflict and xenophobia in our society. We take a significant stance against racism and all other forms of oppression. People with marginalized identities suffer from adversity in our society.
People with marginalized identities may include, but are not limited to, the poor, women, disabled people, LGBTQ+ identifying folk, and people of color. We must appreciate and uplift all people regardless of their marginalized identities because we are all human!
Our contributions to the injustices we face daily are creating visual art pieces with sociohistorical foundations to communicate our contributions and importance as well as showcase our beautifully rich history and culture. Deconstructing the forces and ideology that oppress our communities begins with the spreading of social awareness.
By engaging my passionate heart and creative brain to create inspirational art,
Equitable Arts leaves a positive impact on society by challenging and altering the "status quo."
We all deserve positive representation and proper education to help eliminate racism, sexism, etc.
Equitable Arts specializes in the education of Black life, history, and culture. Within this community, thousands of marginalized identities live and operate. Regardless, we are resilient as we THRIVE and FLOURISH ALWAYS! We, Black people, are the foundation and backbone of American society.
We are passionate about bringing people together for understanding and true equity (everyone receiving resources specific to their needs), because we deserve reparations of various forms and MORE!
We provide visual educational materials for all.
