EQUINITY 06: EXPEDITION - SUBMISSION INFO

It's been some time, so how about another album? Submissions for our next album Equinity 06: EXPEDITION are officially open now!

Soft deadline: March 17th, 2023

Hard deadline: March 26th, 2023

About the theme

Her previous journeys unable to sate her hunger for adventure, Jazzberry once again sets out into the wide world, this time having her sights set on a thick jungle. This humid, tropical environment should prove to make for an expedition full of wondrous sights and maybe even some hints to civilizations of an age long gone, but the flora and fauna in this place are not all friendly and harmless...

Note that your tracks do not have to go with this theme to have a chance of being accepted! Anything goes as long as it’s good, the theme is merely to help you get inspired.

Judging stream

Just like for the previous albums, Greyfade will be hosting judging streams in which he will be listening to each track submitted and provide feedback. Due to the sheer amount of submissions received for recent albums resulting in 10+ hours of streams, this time there will be multiple streams throughout the submission period. This will also give early submitters earlier feedback and ample time to adjust things if needed. Exact details as to when these streams will happen will be determined once enough submissions are in for a decent-length stream, but will be announced ahead of time in the Equinity Discord server, which you can find a link to in the footer of this page.

If you do not wish to have your submissions included in the judging stream to not get your track spoiled early or you just don't want to receive live feedback, upon submitting you have an option to opt out of the judging stream. This does not influence your chance to get on the album in any way, so choose whatever you are more comfortable with!

Note that only because you received some feedback on things that could be improved, you do not have to change your track in order to get accepted! This is only the representation of one judge's opinion, and the other judges may think differently.

FAQ

What can I submit?

Anything goes! We do not have any genre restrictions, but do consider that very experimental or harsh noise-ish music may not be a fit for our album since it’s a very acquired taste and most of our judging team do not usually listen to this type of music, which makes it hard for us to judge it. Beyond that, from electronic over hip-hop to rock, anything generally has an equal chance of getting on!

How many tracks can I submit?

There is no limit as to how many tracks you can submit, however keep in mind that the more you submit the likelier we are to reject tracks even if they are of high enough quality, simply to avoid one artist taking up too much space on the album. As a rule of thumb, we try to not include more than 3 tracks per artist, you are more than welcome however to submit more than that! We will simply end up choosing the tracks we think are better.

I’ve made changes to my submission, what should I do?

Once you have submitted your track, please avoid making further changes to your submission! It makes our life a lot harder having to manage versions of submissions. If you however for example accidentally sent in an unmastered version and you really need to resubmit, either contact one of our staff members or submit again through the same form. This of course does not apply to changes you made based on the feedback provided during the judging stream.

What’s the difference between soft and hard deadline?

Anything submitted before the soft deadline can be included in Greyfade’s judging stream, so if you are aiming to get some feedback in, try to submit before that date. Once the hard deadline passes, submissions are closed, no exceptions. The days listed are the final days of submissions, so they will close at midnight CET the day after.

Can I submit already released songs?

No, we don't accept already released tracks. If you plan on releasing your submission on an EP and you'd like to release it before the actual album releases, get in touch with us and we can sort things out, but generally, submitted tracks should not be released before the album is fully released.

Where will the money made from this album go to?

To charity! Which exact charity it will go to is always decided later down the line as we generally try to pick our charities based on current world events and/or what we feel is important at that moment, but definitely before announcing the release of the album so people know where their money goes to.

I have a question not answered here, who do I ask?

In almost every case, Greyfade will be able to answer it! Feel free to message him on Discord (Siver | Greyfade#1879) or Twitter (@greyfademusic).
