Local Information

Location

The conference events will be held on the Rutgers University New Brunswick campus.  All talks will be given in the Academic Building Room 1180 on the Rutgers University College Avenue Campus in New Brunswick, NJ.  The Academic Building is split into two buildings -- an East Wing and a West Wing.  Room 1180 is in the West Wing.  When standing on the street (Seminary Place) and looking at the Academic Buildings, the West Wing is on the left.

Getting to New Brunswick

The campus can be reached conveniently in several ways including by road, rail, and air.  The venue is located within a 15 minute walk from the NJ Transit train station in New Brunswick.  The New Brunswick train stop is on the Northeast Corridor line for NJ Transit, which connects to northern stops like Newark Airport, NY Penn Station, and Metropark.  The Northeast Corridor line connects to Trenton and Princeton Junction from the south.

Because of the train line, Newark airport is the most convenient of the NYC-area airports to fly into.  From Newark airport, the NJ transit train ride takes about 30-40 minutes to New Brunswick.

Parking

If you will be traveling to New Brunswick by car, you can obtain a parking permit by filling out the form here:  Equilibrium Summer School Conference.  The Rutgers University parking authority provided the following information about the permit:

Your visitors may park in Lots 26, 30 & College Avenue Deck. Guests must use the below link to register for the event. They must enter an email address where they will receive a confirmation. Until this process is completed their vehicles are not registered and your guests may receive a citation. Special Event parking does not include metered parking or allow free parking to faculty, staff, or students. Rutgers affiliated Faculty, Staff and Students must have a Rutgers parking permit (Semester, Daily, or Event) and park accordingly. Faculty, Staff, and Students parking without a parking permit or outside their parking permit assignment will be subjected to ticketing and/or towing.
