You make the art. I'll help with the things that get in your way.
Practical producing support for independent theatre-makers who don’t need – or can’t afford – a producer for an entire show.
Got a script and enthusiasm but not sure where to start? I'll help you turn your ideas into a practical production plan, budget and timeline.
For when you have a script and enthusiasm but don’t know how, or don’t have the time, to turn that into a viable production.
I will work with you to create a realistic timeline and budget, work out who you need on your team, and identify what you need from a rehearsal venue and a performance venue. We’ll talk through likely expenses and ticket income, and the risks you can be aware of and plan for.
At the end, you will have a practical production plan you can take away and use.
The package includes an initial planning meeting, a written production plan, and a budget.
In this package, I can advise on budgets but not provide fundraising support. I will help you identify suitable types of venues but won’t approach or book them.
£450 Funded / £350 Unfunded
I'll take the hassle out of finding your cast and crew, from recruitment announcements and shortlisting to organising auditions and meetings.
I will work with you to clarify the cast and crew you need. We’ll identify suitable audition sides, and I’ll draft and share the announcements, review applications and prepare a shortlist, schedule auditions and meetings, and follow up with candidates afterwards. Artistic selection decisions still belong to the writer/director.
This price is for a maximum cast size of four, one round of recruitment and auditions, and up to six individual crew meetings to arrange. It includes reviewing up to 40 applications in total and preparing the audition schedule, but not attending auditions on the day.
Venue hire and advertising costs are additional. If you have a larger cast, receive more than 40 applications, or would like support with callbacks or further recruitment rounds, please get in touch, we’ll try to find a price that works for both of us.
I’ll make the recruitment process as organised, clear and straightforward as possible. I can’t guarantee we’ll find the perfect people, but we’ll be giving it our very best shot.

I'll help get your show noticed by preparing your press materials and reaching out to reviewers, journalists and industry contacts.
I will prepare a press release, short pitch email and invitations to reviewers and industry professionals.
I’ll do one round of targeted invitations and one follow-up to an agreed list of up to 20 press, reviewer and industry contacts. Where possible, I’ll include people and organisations who might be interested in seeing your work, although not every venue or company accepts invitations to shows.
I’ll coordinate with anyone who responds so that you don’t need to worry: they’ll have everything they need. You’ll provide the production details, images and ticketing arrangements; I’ll handle the agreed outreach and responses.
I’ll do everything I can to give your show the best chance of being noticed. But I can’t guarantee reviews, press coverage or industry attendance.

Get your creative team off to the best possible start with a facilitated first meeting, clear expectations and a rehearsal schedule that works for everyone. NEXT AVAILABILITY 2027
Rehearsals can be an intense and deeply vulnerable process. A strong team makes both the show and the experience of making it the best they can possibly be.
I will convene the creative team’s first meeting and support you in getting to know each other and agreeing how you will work together.
This includes agreeing key milestones, such as when everyone should be off-book, clarifying whether anyone will need to do “extras” such as selling tickets or sourcing their own costume, and identifying anything that any cast or crew member needs to be able to participate fully in the process.
We’ll also agree how you’ll communicate, how decisions will be made, and how to raise concerns if something isn’t working. Any individual access requirements or disability riders will be handled sensitively and shared only with the person’s agreement.
At the end, you will have a rehearsal and production working agreement, and a schedule which takes everyone’s commitments into account.
The package includes one facilitated meeting, the written agreement and one agreed scheduling round.

About Me - Why I Can Help
I have self-produced, co-produced, and worked with producers across several successful shows in two countries. Outside of my writing life, I have managed six-figure budgets, led teams, and created and managed more projects than I want to count. I have worked in PR as well as been a journalist and theatre reviewer. I bring all of that together to help other theatre-makers get their shows off the ground.
Putting on a show can feel overwhelming. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own.
A note on pricing
I try to balance paying myself fairly for my own time and expertise with keeping this support as affordable as I can. I offer funded and unfunded rates because I know how tight budgets can be, particularly for new writing and fringe productions.
Unfunded rates are intended for self-funded artists and very low-budget independent productions. Funded rates apply where a project has a budget for professional producing support. If you’re not sure which applies to you, just ask.
Each package covers a defined amount of work. If you need something a little different, or more support than the package includes, we can talk about it.
Any additional work will be quoted and agreed before I begin - no surprise invoices for you, no surprise work for me.
