Wrestling Attire
Wrestling Attire
DRESS
It is mandatory for wrestlers to wear their own HEADGEAR during all practice sessions and matches to protect their ears. All headgear should clearly be labeled with the wrestler’s name.
Appropriate dress for practice includes T-shirts or long-sleeve shirts, gym trunks or sweat pants, and a singlet. No street clothes, street shoes, belts, button shirts, jewelry, zippers, etc. will be allowed. The locker rooms are unavailable, so please come dressed and ready to practice.
SHOES
Every wrestler needs a pair of wrestling shoes, that should never be worn outside. Sneakers pick up stones, dirt, and other debris that could be left on the mat, causing harm or infection to the wrestlers and damaging an expensive wrestling mat. If your child does not have wrestling shoes, we will hold our annual shoe exchange the first few nights of practice. Need one, Take one...Have one, Leave one. We have a variety of sizes available but in limited quantities, so it is first come, first serve. If your child needs shoes, please come and check them out.
MOUTHGUARD
A mouthguard is highly recommended for our more experienced wrestlers, especially if you wear braces.
WATER BOTTLE
Please label your water bottle. We also have a water fountain to fill up bottles if needed.

Wrestling shoes are a mandatory, but you can choose your brand and design of shoe. In addition, no mandatory color for socks. When ordering, just be sure to check sizing. Shoes should be snug, but not tight. If wrestling shoes are too loose, they can cause blisters and not allow the wrestler to perform at their best.
Similar with wrestling shoes, headgear is mandatory, but brand and design is your preference. Some are softer with fabric and velcro while others are soft plastic with button straps. Straps will need to be adjusted to assure a snug fit on the wrestlers head. This task can be time consuming, so make sure you do this well before a practice or event.
It is important that your wrestler is comfortable when at practice. T-shirts or a long sleeve tee that are not too big and sweatpants or shorts (preferably without pockets) are your best choice! Your wrestler should be able to move freely without being constricted or having to pull up pants that are too big. No jewelry or zippers allowed.
