Biography
Webber Ndoro is a heritage professional from Africa. He has lectured on heritage management at the University of Bergen, Norway, and the University of Zimbabwe, as well as at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where he is an associate professor.
From 1998 to 2007, Webber Ndoro worked within ICCROM for the Africa 2009 program as the program coordinator. He then became the Executive Director of the African World Heritage Fund (AWHF) 2008 to 2017, before returning to ICCROM in 2018 to 2023 as Director General. He has been working as the Director of the Heritage Centre in the Islamic world at ICESCO since 2024.
He has published numerous articles and co-edited several books on the conservation of African heritage, including Your Monument Our Shrine: The Preservation of Great Zimbabwe (ICCROM 2005), The Archaeological Heritage of Africa (Cambridge 2011) Managing Heritage in Africa: Who Cares? (Routledge, 2018) and Cultural Heritage Management in Africa: The Heritage of the Colonized (Routledge, 2022).
