Is your Brother printer showing “Offline” or “Paused” and not responding to print commands? There may be connection problems or incorrect printer settings on your Windows or Mac computer.
Most of the time, the printer is offline due to a major fault, and minor troubleshooting may work. Here is what you can do to fix the issue:
Check the printer connection
See if the printer is fully powered on.
Check that the USB or Ethernet cable is properly connected to the printer and to your PC or WiFi router.
If using a wireless connection, see if your printer displays a blinking WiFi light. If it does, it means the WiFi is disconnected.
Check if your printer and computer are on the same network.
Do an internet speed test to see if the network connection is stable.
If the internet connection is weak, unplug the router from the wall outlet and then plug it back in.
Restart your printer and computer
Windows: Press the Windows Start button, select the power icon, and click on “Restart.”
Mac: Click the Apple icon at the top left corner. Select Restart, or press and hold the power button until it shuts off.
Restart Your Epson Printer
Turn off the printer by pressing and holding its power button.
After that, remove the power cable from the outlet, and wait for a minute.
Plug the printer’s cable back into the outlet, and press its power button.
