The mainstem Bear River in this watershed is embedded in a highly agricultural valley, so while it is geomorphically unconfined, it is heavily controlled for anthropogenic use. The valley is bounded on the West by an alluvial fan from the Otter Creek tributary and a terrace and on the East by a pediment. The active valley is is filled with oxbow lakes and a mix of partially and fully abandoned channels.
