Jack Dyson ePortfolio

I have decided to pursue chemical engineering. It has interested me since my eight grade teacher introduced me to the main part of chemistry. I enjoy it because of the possibilities that something so small can have such big impacts on everything around it.  So far in my education journey, I have taken all the required science courses until sophomore year, where I took chemistry. My junior year, I took AP physics, which will be monumental for looking at the particles that make up so much of chemistry. 

I do two main extracurricular activities, that being tennis and marching band, and they have both taught me so much about how to work in teams, and how much one piece needs to fit into the whole. In tennis, you will have a partner that you need to work very well with in order to win the match. Outside of Leonardtown High, I do swim team for my neighborhood team. After High School, if I am in an internship, I would plan to stay in that, but if not, then I do plan on going to a four year college. For the internship, if they had hired me for the job, I do not see a use in quitting to go to a college.  

Once I become a chemical engineer, I will be able to affect my community in many ways by creating new compounds to help dispose of garbage and such. I always hope to have a positive outcome with all the things that I end up making, and hope to make a difference in the world.
