Field site Eligibility
Field Experiences/Internships are an integral part of the MSW, MEd School Counseling, and PsyD students' pedagogy. To ensure that the purpose of the grant is honored and EPIC students receive the best educational field experience possible, please look over the requirements and suggestions for EPIC field/internship sites.
If you would like to become an EPIC Program field/internship site and want more information, please reach out to Dr. Tennille or Wendy Myers to discuss intern opportunities.
Eligible Field Sites/Internship Criteria
Macro sites are not eligible.
Guarantee that EPIC Awardee will be working DIRECTLY and PRIMARILY with children, adolescents, and/or transitional-aged youth.
Agree to fulfill student's hourly requirements per WCU program's curriculum.
Field Instructors/Site Supervisors agree to work with EPIC Awardee.
CWEL students are not currently eligible. Please speak to your advisor for more details.
Other tuition-funding sources may preclude you from applying (such as VA benefits, etc.). It is the student's responsibility to determine eligibility.
Field Sites/Internship Cooperation with the EPIC Program
Field Instructors/Site Supervisors are asked to
attend all four EPIC Trainings Series events live alongside their students. We have found that when the student and field instructor/supervisor attend together, it creates a better learning experience for both (and you may get free CEUs!!!)
discuss the following during supervision in relationship to your field site:
Integrated care and interprofessional collaboration
High need populations and social determinants of health
Key points from the EPIC Training Series events
complete all EPIC Program, HRSA, NORC and other surveys, as needed.
be a great gatekeeper and offer feedback to the EPIC Program and Directors of Field Education.
MOST IMPORTANTLY - THANK YOU!!
We fully recognize the sacrifice, time, and effort it takes when supporting a West Chester University intern! Our agencies, organizations, and schools are understaffed and overworked, yet you still have agreed to train the next generation of social workers, school counselors, and psychologists. You are doing important work and we want to support you as your support our students. PLEASE let us know what we can do!
To thank you, we...
keep our trainings free so that you may earn continuing education credits. These events are for everybody within your agency, organization, or school, too!
offer field instructors/site supervisors the ability to audit the SWG/NTD 592: Advanced Clinical Practice in Integrated Care class. More information is in your Field Instructor/Site Supervisor Information Packet.
may be able to bring our expert faculty to your site for staff training. Past trainings have included: LGBTQ in the Workplace, Motivational Interviewing, and Understanding ACEs. For more information on an in-house training event, please contact Dr. Julie Tennille.
invite you to become part of EPIC LinkedIn for all integrated care professionals in the region to connect and network.
offer access to our YouTube channel with videos of our previous trainings and other resources. While videos are not elibible for continuing education credits, you may use them for staff and professional development.
THANK YOU!!!
