Dear Diary:

𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒹𝒾𝒶𝓇𝓎,

Today I met the most mysterious man but he was oh so handsome and inviting. I was at the Lincoln Park on my normal Tuesday afternoon jog when I saw him leaning on an oak tree. He immediately caught my eye. I didn't even know that I was staring until he said something. “Something you’re looking at over here, little missy?” the captivating man questioned. I silently apologized mouthing the word “sorry”, gave him a little wave, and sped off in the opposite direction from embarrassment.

Today I feel good.

𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒹𝒾𝒶𝓇𝓎,

I decided to take a trip back to the park just in case he was there again hanging around. Yesterday I felt such a strong connection. Could it be love at first sight? Maybe that’s too bold of me but I did see him again. While I was grabbing a drink by the water fountain. I saw him jogging up towards the direction I was in. Not to be rude I turned the other way. However, I did take out one earbud just in case. "Nice to see you again” a deep voice behind me stated. I jumped when I realized who was talking to me. “Same to you and sorry about yesterday I just get really deep into my thoughts while I am running,” I answered. “No need to worry. I know I look good. Say, do you happen to have any plans today? I am just in town for a short while longer and would love to see you at my place tonight? If you’re down,” the intriguing man asked. Lost for words I uttered “Bu-But I don’t even know your name..” “Jake,” he replied shortly “how about you?” “Oh, um mine is Katie,” I replied with a smile, “and yes I am free tonight.” “Sweet I will be seeing you then, Katie” and he handed me a slip of paper with some numbers written on it.

Jake.. hm.. that has a nice ring to it. Anyways I am about to get ready to go see him. I will write tomorrow morning straight away.

Today I feel encouraged.

𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒹𝒾𝒶𝓇𝓎,

…Last night was the most amazing first date I have ever been on with anyone. Before you ask yes, I did sleep with him and no I do not think that is all he wanted from me. However, last night was his last night in town for his work. I am still not quite sure what he does though. His hotel was very nice.

Today I feel hopeful.

𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒹𝒾𝒶𝓇𝓎,

I bought a pregnancy test today. My period is two weeks late already. I am terrified of the results. I know it would be Jake’s. Yet he never called me and when I call him it goes straight to voicemail. I am just waiting for the results to pop up on the test. One more minute to go.. Oh no. I think the test is ready.. After I slowly flip it over the word PREGNANT is there in all capital letters staring at me.

Today I feel uneasy.

𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒹𝒾𝒶𝓇𝓎,

Today I had my first ultrasound. The baby is precious and healthy and perfect. Oh, and I found the baby’s daddy on Instagram this morning. Turns out he is a professional football player in Florida. That explains a lot. I messaged him and sent him pictures of our baby. I truly hope he responds and chooses to be in his son's or daughter's life.

Today I feel gloomy.

𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒹𝒾𝒶𝓇𝓎,

I made my first Twitter post dedicated to the loved little girl growing inside me. I decided to buck up and tag her dad in it as well. I am hoping by doing so he will finally respond to me by having his fans call him out. I kept the post short and sweet. Just like our relationship.

Today I feel optimistic.

𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒹𝒾𝒶𝓇𝓎,

I have made a mistake. It turns out none of Jake's followers truly care about him or his daughter. They are now going after ME. I cannot even believe this… There is nothing in this world I want more than to raise a beautiful, strong, and caring daughter. Even if I am doing all the work myself. It may just be us two against the world but that is all I can ever ask for. I will love her and show her everything I am. Together we are unstoppable.

Today I feel happy.
