질병의 위험 및 예방요인을 규명하기 위하여 다양한 빅데이터와 임상데이터를 역학적, 통계학적 방법론을 활용하여 분석합니다.
본 연구실에서 가장 중점적으로 진행하는 연구는 다양한 지표를 활용하여 정확도 높은 질병 발생 및 진행의 예측모형을 개발하는 것이며, 모형을 개발하는데 있어 전통적인 통계적 방법론 뿐만 아니라, Structural Equation Model, Classification Tree 등의 방법론도 활용합니다.
지리공간분석은 감염병의 전파 및 발생 패턴을 파악하는 방법론으로서, 연구실에서 다양한 질병의 발생 위험을 예측하는 데 활용됩니다.

우리 연구실에서는 다양한 방법론을 활용하여 역학적 주제에 접근하기 때문에 각 연구자들이 관심있는 분야에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있습니다.
의생명과학 및 이공계 전공의 연구자들은 대체로 감염성·만성 질환의 발생 및 전파와 관련된 연구를 진행합니다. 연구성과를 보건 정책에 적용하는 것 또한 중요하기 때문에 여러 정책연구를 진행하고 있으며, 사회과학 분야에서 학부 및 보건학 석사를 전공한 연구자들이 주로 성과를 내고 있습니다.
